Ray Chu A/W25 – The Eternal Resilience of Blue Cypress London Fashion Week

As London Fashion Week embraced new sustainability requirements for A/W 2025, Taiwanese designer RAY CHU highlights the resilience of natural forms.

Continuing to draw inspiration from the strength and endurance of our ecosystem, RAY CHU’s A/W25 collection incorporates innovative sustainable fabrics from Taiwan, making a statement about the lasting beauty of the natural world.

The AW25 collection draws inspiration from Blue Cypress trees, symbolising resilience, strength, and unwavering determination. These attributes also tie into the meaning of the designer’s Chinese name, ‘Po – also meaning ‘cypress’, transforming this collection into a statement about personal heritage.

Ray Chu

Taiwanese fabric companies stand at the forefront of textile innovation, with designers like RAY CHU utilising original textiles and showcasing these fabrics within their designs. In addition to the fabric technology used in previous RAY CHU collections, A/W25 sees the use of Taiwanese SECAO fibre, supplied by Grandetex, developed using the waste husk of the raw cacao plant. RAY CHU has also integrated Water chestnut shell charcoal yarn, a unique, sustainable fabric technology created by Everest Textile Co. Ltd., to develop key pieces in this collection.

RAY CHU continues to utilise 3D printing techniques to create sculptural pieces that mimic the intricate structure and organic flow of the Blue Cypress tree. This collection has CHU’s signature style woven throughout, seen in the sequin pinstripes, colourful vegan leather, and playful co-ords; whilst simultaneously elevating the brand with refined silhouettes and carefully tailored suiting.

The AW25 collection embarks on an enhanced maturity for the designer, whilst remaining grounded in RAY CHU’s key principles of innovation and nature. By merging innovative craftsmanship with a contemporary essence, the result is a range of elegant ready-to-wear pieces that perfectly balance bold sculptural silhouettes with modern fluidity.

About RAY CHU

For A/W25, the brand returns to London Fashion Week for its fourth season, continuing its mission to create genderless styles for everyone. Since its successful debut in 2022, London has become an important hub for RAY CHU, as the designer looks to expand globally.
